While teachers were aflurry with writing down their lesson plans and attending workshops, SAP Coordinator Mrs. Fides Abad, with Ms. Betty Didulo and Student Council moderator, Mr. Jake Aragon, prepared the club moderators’ orientation for Friday, June 6, 2008.

As early as the first week of classes, the high school seniors already attended the first of a series of college orientation talks sponsored by the Guidance Department.

Last Wednesday, June 25, 2008, the High School Freshmen attended their miting de avance to guide them in their decision in electing a new batch representative.

Twenty-two clubs, including three new clubs this year, showcased their various activities in the hope of enticing students to join during the enrollment period between June 16th until the 20th.

Last June 18, 2008, the High School gave recognition to exemplary students during the Annual Reading of Honors.

Another Xaverian does Xavier School proud. Recent graduate, Mark Benedict Tan (08), garnered first place in the 4th-Year Individual category in the national finals of the 2008 Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Match Challenge.

1st Quarter Sports Clubs

The Sports Club Program offered by the Xavier Athletics and Physical Education Department continues to receive positive responses among its enrollees. Membership in a sports club brings many benefits.

The Xavier Football Varsity and Club teams have been busy the whole summer months of April and May.

To celebrate the 20th year of their graduation from Xavier School, members of Batch 88 organized a medical mission for the poor residents of Payatas last May 17, 2008.

Congratulations to Mark Gregory Chua (04) who recently graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a double degree.

Mrs. Linda May Hernandez of the High School Math Deparment recently received a Certificate of Commendation from the office of San Juan City Mayor, JV Ejercito, in recognition of her mentoring of Marck Benedict Tan, 1st place winner in the national level of the 2008 Mertobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge.
