In a tournament featuring the best youth bowlers of the nation, the bowling team once again came up with a noteworthy performance. Edrell Dy (H2A) singed the lanes with an eight-game total of 1740 pins or an average score of 218 per game to emerge as the 1 st runner-up in the Juniors Division of the PBC National Annuals held at the Pearl Bowling Center last Sunday, December 5, 2004.

       What was remarkable about this performance was that while other bowlers were quickly disheartened when the eventual champion bowled two perfect games early, Edrell continued to play his game and made a good attempt at a come from behind win.

      Meanwhile, Edmund Lee also bowled an impressive performance of 1598 in eight games or an average of 200 per game. Unfortunately, the breaks did not go his way in the final game, depriving him of a spot in the top three. Edmund finished fourth, a mere 19 pins away from a trophy finish.

       Other Xavier bowlers who qualified for the prestigious annual tournament are Joseph Emmanuel Ang (H2B), and Michael Olivan (H2B) in the Juniors Division and Glenn Ng (H4D) in the Majors Division. These bowlers also played well, which is an encouraging sign as the team is preparing for the National Youth Championships, which is the biggest and most prestigious youth tournament in the country, during the Christmas break.
