The Dedication Parol Is Back!

      The Christmas Drive committee brings back the Dedication Parol Project as part of its effort to raise funds for the different beneficiaries this year. Apart from this, the activity aims to strengthen the sense of community among the members of the Xavier family.

      The said project began last November 16, 2004. Every recess and lunch, students, faculty, and staff can go to the booths located near the elevator and the Seniors’ Wing patio in order to purchase a dedication parol.

      For only P50, anyone can send a Christmas greeting, a thank you note, or a simple hello to a classmate, a friend, a teacher, a supervisor, or any member of the Xavier community.

      During breaks, various student organizations and classes, with the help of Christmas Drive committee members from the faculty, take turns in manning the parol booths. Likewise, clubs are assigned to take care of hanging the parols outside the classroom or office of the recipients of the greetings.

       To date, the Seniors batch lead in the tally of parols. A total of 115 of these small lanterns have been sold to the H4 students. The Sophomores and the Juniors follow with 75 and 51 parols respectively. The Freshmen, on the other hand only have 27 parols to date. Meanwhile, 45 parols have been sold to the Faculty and Staff.   All in all, around 200 parols have already been sold and students as well as teachers continue to flock the booths during break time.

      So don’t wait till stocks are out!  Deck those halls with dedication parols!
