Why be a counserlor?

I have been in the field of Guidance & Counseling for six years now. Why be a counselor for 6 years? The greatest fulfillment of being a counselor is to be able to help someone in need help him/herself. I realize the various dimensions of my personality, of my life and of life in general and achieve growth in the process.

What do you look forward to in your first year... in Xavier School?

In my first year in XS as a Nursery Counselor I look forward to new changes, challenges, and learning experiences from the children & the people I work with.

If you were not in Xavier School, what would you be doing instead?

If im not working in the academe, i would like to be still a counselor & work in a crisis center for children.

If your life is a TV show, what would it?

If I will be given a chance to join a reality show I would like to be one of the accomplish in ABS CBNs tv show VICTIM EXTREME.

If you are watching that TV show I hope you notice that sometimes their set-up event is traumatic for the guest victim. I believe that they need a counselor in that show

Why teach?
First and foremost, I really enjoy children. I think they are one of God's more wonderful blessings. Aside from that, I find fulfillment in being able to interact with them inside the classroom, but more significantly, outside of class. It is this interaction that I look forward to everyday because I learn much from them, and they're a good reminder for me to always look at the simpler things in life. Aside from that, I get to challenge my mind and my talent when coming up with my daily lessons.

What would you consider your greatest achievement, so far?
Since I taught already 3 years back, I think my greatest achievement would be seeing my former grade 5 students (who are now in High 2 and High 3) mature over the years, since I know that I was somehow a part of that.

If you were not teaching, what would you be doing instead?
I would probably be a writer/journalist or a tv newscaster/host. If not, I would just be a housewife, taking care of my husband and children.

If your life is a TV show or a sitcom, what would it be and why?
I don't really think that there's a tv show or sitcom that could be comparable to my life, but I do enjoy watching Frasier (because he's a psychologist/psychiatrist, and he's into arts and culture), Charmed (because I find the stories really amusing and entertaining, and I think they teach good values there, especially about sisterhood and morality), and Everybody Loves Raymond (because even if his family constantly bickers and argues, at the end of the day they work things out and make peace).

Why teach?
Because I think teaching is one of the few professions that really make a difference

What do you look forward to in your first year... in Xavier School?
I look forward to the "firsts". I am a fresh graduate so everything that I'm experiencing in Xavier School is a first.

If you were not teaching, what would you be doing instead?
I think I would be working as an HR Staff in some company.

If your life is a TV show or a sitcom, what would it be and why?
If my life was a TV show or a sitcom it would be Charmed.... without the magic. I live with my sister and my aunt, so it's like we are the power of three, and we encounter demons everyday.... we just have a different way of vanquishing them.

Why teach?
I went to teaching because I love children. When I was young, I loved teaching my younger siblings. I also wanted to get a job that would use a lot of talking because I love to talk. I felt the best job for me was to be a teacher because I get to talk and work with children at the same time.

What do you look forward to in your first year... in Xavier School?
I expect things to be a little difficult. I am sure I will experience things that are new to me which may be unusual at first, but in the end, it would make me grow both as a teacher and as a person.

Graduating Cum Laude. Also, being able to go to other countries to attend the World Youth Day. I'm also proud to be accepted in Xavier.

If you were not teaching, what would you be doing instead?
I would be working in a hotel as a chef. I also see myslef working in the Spanish Embassy.

If your life is a TV show or a sitcom, what would it be and why?
It would be Charmed because I'm a person who never gives up no matter how difficult the challenge.

This is my way of contributing to the process of change for the betterment of our country.

My students.

If you were not teaching, what would you be doing instead?
I would be doing carpentry works and/or involving myslef to our parish social welfare activism.

If your life is a TV show or a sitcom, what would it be and why?
It would be Bubble Gang because despite all the challenges of life, I still see and feel its beauty through the laughters and joys I experience with people I work and meet everyday.

Why teach?
Teaching makes me fulfill one if my life's purposes. I frimly believe that one way of glorifying the Lord is through sharing my knowledge and experiences with my students.

What do you look forward to in your first year... in Xavier School?
I am looking forward to learn remarkable things from my superiors and colleagues; to provide enlightenment to budding gentlelmen; and to share my gifts.

I'm really blessed to have a happy and contented married life.

If you were not teaching, what would you be doing instead?
I would probably be a well known violinist having her first recital in Venice, Italy.

Early Edition. I want to make a difference everyday by trying to make life less difficult to other people

Greatest achievement for me is the fact that I am now part of the Xavier community. It is a gift and a priviledge to be in a religious and peace loving community.

If you were not teaching, what would you be doing instead?
I would probably be with NGO work giving my all to serving depressed, urban poor commnities.

If your life is a TV show or a sitcom, what would it be and why?
My life would be an allegorical fantasy play. It would be a very colorful presentation of magic and mystecism. It would be fun, though, there are also difficulties. There would be a fairy godmother who will lift me up. It is also an adventure of different unexplainable tasks to be accomlished. It would be a challenging one that would end in triumph.
