HIGHLIGHTS
Last January 24, 2005, the High School Middle Level Administrators (MLA) convened at the Jesuit Villa in Taytay, Rizal for a one day workshop on the new Performance Appraisal Instrument (PAI).
The two vans carrying the MLAs left the Xavier grounds before 7:00 AM and reached the place an hour later.
After settling down and having breakfast, the team immediately went to work. Mrs. Jane Natividad, HS Principal presided over the first plenary where she explained the objectives and the expected outcomes for the day. Then, the big group was split into three so that each group may work on the three areas of the PAI namely: Professional Competence, Professional Character and Community Building.
By 8:30AM , three rooms in the villa were occupied by the enthusiastic members of the team. With only a few minutes of break, the three groups were ready to present their output in the second plenary before noontime.
The first group to present was the Professional Competence group, which was represented by Mr. Patrick Posadas of the P.E. Department. His report was followed by the one coming from the Professional Character group whose reporter was Mr. Michael delos Reyes, Assistant Principal for Formation. Finally, Mr. Jojo Ng, Prefect of Discipline, presented the report of the Community Building group.
The sessions turned out to be fruitful as the exchange of ideas proved to be enriching. In fact, each group’s output was improved after each discussion. Moreover, the MLAs had time to view the PAI as a whole. Thus, contents of the output were aligned accordingly.
With the openness, coming along with the MLAs high level of energy and the favorable working atmosphere in the villa, the group was able to get the work done in no time. Thus, before 4PM , the MLAs were all set to go back home to Xavier School.
