More than ten thousand people were killed. Thousands of lives shattered but the United States of America never hindered themselves from attacking a very little country in the Middle East . Some people say that Bush wanted vengeance since the US lost in the 1990 Gulf War but others claim that the US wanted to emblazon their power to the whole world. Those people are blind to the facts why Bush attacked Iraq since the real reason of the war was the search for democracy and the thwarting of the weapons of mass destruction.
The war was a search for democracy since Iraq was dominated by Saddam Hussein for more than fifty years. Before, Iraq claimed that they were democratic but in fact, Saddam Hussein was running a dictatorial nation. This similar situation didn't happen only in the Iraq War but throughout the course of history. With the United States being a form follower of the true principles of democracy, a lot of countries suffered like Iraq yet after being democratic, they eventually rose to be a good country. For instance, Vietnam was attacked by the US since they were a communist country but presently, they are better than the Philippines . Iraq is already in its stepping stone towards democracy because they already have a set election date which will occur on January 30, 2005.
The war on Iraq is a battle against the weapons of mass destruction. Iraq was blamed by several countries capable of building such weapons. When the United Nation issued an inspection on Iraq , the government declined and when the UN issued an oil ban, they still export oil despite that. This proved that they were guilty of violations against the law on possessing weapons of mass destruction since a lot of diplomatic methods were applied by the UN but the Republic of Iraq didn't bother to comply. North Korea and Iran were also blamed of having nuclear weapons of mass destruction but they were willing to solve the problem in a diplomatic way.
The war on terror proved to be a success since more countries avoid researching for deadly weapons. Because of this, the world is a safer place to live. This event would now be part of history since the war affected not only those in America and in the Middle East but it involved the whole world.
