Buzz-up!! Buzz-up!!

As early as the start of the 3rd quarter, Ms. Jessica Junio, the H4 computer teacher, appointed Michael Cu, H4B's class president, to head one of the biggest projects of the class this year: an IT Quiz bee for freshmen students.

The IT Quiz Bee entitled “Buzz – up!! Buzz – up!!” aimed further develop the freshmen's competence of their computer lessons this year. The said event was held last February 16, 2005 at the Angelo – King Multi Purpose Center.

The winner of the Quizbee was the class of H1F, represented by Lawrence Gaitmaitan and Marquis Joson, while the class of H1C, represented by Charles Cue and Jacques Reyes, landed as First Runner up.

The Programmers committee created the Visual Basic software to create a program used by contestants in answering the various questions in the Contest.

The event ended remarkably because everyone who attended enjoyed and learned new things in the field of computer.

Furthermore, the project promoted friendly competition among the participants and at the same time, it provided a venue for High 1 students to challenge their minds and skills with regard to computer and information technology.

Surely, all the teachers, students and participants, as well as the sponsoring class of H4B had a great and fulfilling learning experience.

Last February 23, 2005 the class of H4E sponsored an IT Quizbee for the Grade Six students from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the MPC.

The project aims to foster a sense of camaraderie among the students and motivate them to develop innovative ideas and talents related to computers. This special alternative project is part of the H4's Computer Practicum Program.

Similar to an interclass contest, the eight sections competed with each other. The two hosts randomly selected a class number for every question and within 10 seconds, class representatives were asked to write their answer on the blackboard. The questions were classified into the following categories; MS Publisher, Trivia, Games, Keyboarding, MS Word and Powerpoint XP and Extra.

The contest started with a prayer led by Timothy Yapkianwee and an explanation of the game mechanics by the hosts, Terence Lim and Justin Tee. As soon as the first number was called, the participants were very excited, enthusiastic and competitive.

Without a doubt, the participants learned a lot for this event and gave their all, but only one could emerge as the champion, Grade 6A.

Truly, this experience was very worthwhile, and it seems that the Grade 6 students enjoyed themselves and were given the chance to gain wisdom. Undoubtedly, our class is glad that we were given the chance to sponsor an event like this, and an event we will forever remember.
