KA WINI: A Man For All Seasons

Mr. Winifredo P. Undag, also called by his peers as Ka Wini, has served Xavier School for 31 years as Guidance Counselor Head and Principal of the High School Department. Moreover, on his last years in Xavier School , Ka Wini serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Xavier Credit Cooperative (XACCOOP).

Ka Wini is of a rare breed, the kind of man whom you could hardly find nowadays: a man of wisdom, integrity, probity and simplicity. People look up to him with much respect. Many go to him to seek for guidance and enlightenment. With loads of patience and understanding, he could bear the shortcomings of others.

A very skillful writer, his write-ups can provide comic relief and a hearty laugh to the reader. He can make serious matters look humorous by unveiling the folly of those involved in it. His comments can stir imagination and propel one's thoughts to probe deeper on his points. He is very good at using songs, both old and new, to describe his observations of a particular situation or issue.

It is sad that Ka Wini had to leave us to take care of his women in life – his wife and mother. However, we believe that wherever he will be and whatever he will do, we will remain close in his heart. For his incomparable dedications to Xavier School , the institution that he considers as his second home, we will surely continue to consider him as our inspiration and give to him our sincerest gratitude.
