XAVERIAN'S CORNER

Welcome Address
by Emil Dy of 7F

Posted Tuesday, 22-March-2005 12:10 PM

Reverend Father Johnny Go of the Society of Jesus, our School director; Reverend Father Ismael Zuloaga of the Society of Jesus, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Mrs. Ditas Dairo, our Grade School Principal; Dr. Kelly Salvador, our guest speaker; Mrs. Estrelle Nabua, our Assistant Principal for the Intermediate Level; Mrs. Arlene Choo and Mr. Peter Marc Magsalin, our Assistant Principals for Units 1 and 2; dear teachers, parents, guests, and fellow students, welcome to the Closing Ceremonies of the Grade School Batch of 2005. We have gathered here today to celebrate the end of our Grade School life.

In most journeys, we set off to find new things. We usually experience much more than what we would have asked for and we grow wiser with each step of the way. Most journeys end once we get back home, but some journeys never really end. This is true for our road here in Xavier School . We were young boys once, eager to play and have fun. Now, we have grown up into fine young gentlemen. At this point in our lives, we realize that we are wiser than before and ready to become more responsible. We will soon be playing with our destinies instead of games. We will soon be making important decisions and acting out our thoughts and beliefs.

Dear teachers, administrators, parents and friends, standing before you today is a 294-strong Xaverian force. This same contingent lived in the words of Robin Williams: Carpe Diem! To suck the marrow out of life and live it to the fullest! Indeed, we have and we aspire to continue this and more! We are compelled to do more and to greater things, all for His glory.
