XAVERIAN'S CORNER

Word of Thanks
by Christopher Yu of 7C

Posted Tuesday, 22-March-2005 12:10 PM

First of all, we would like to offer our thanks to all our classmates and batchmates. We have supported each other in times of difficulties. We have shared and celebrated in times of triumph. We add color, friendship and camaraderie to our daily lives in school. Without the special bond that can only be developed through years of going through the same experiences and challenges, school just wouldn't be the same. Now that we are on the threshold of the next major phase of our lives, High School life, let us work with each other once again to rise up to the occasion and conquer all the challenges ahead.

To the school that has offered us many different kinds of programs, we thank you. Truly, our batch is blessed. We experienced many school “firsts”, such as the Flexible Curriculum, which put us in different nontraditional study programs during the Third Quarter of the school year. Some of us were invited to be the first batch of Grade 7 students to participate in the Xavier China Experience, which tested our independence, enabled us to use our skills in a distant land, realize our roots and interact with people from all walks of life. More importantly, it enabled us to further share in the dream of St. Francis Xavier in reaching the Celestial Empire for our King, and truly shine as Xaverians. We were also the first batch in the Grade School to experience the Bukas Palad Night. These things, together with the other activities that helped enrich and shape our lives in special ways, guided us towards becoming true Men for Others.

To our teachers, we thank you, for your never failing guidance. We can never forget the sacrifices that you made for us to be able to gain the knowledge, skills and values that we need to succeed in life. You led by example, letting the Xavier spirit shine through in all your actions. You have prepared us well. We will carry all that you have taught us to High School.
