AAXS Sponsors Round Trip Ticket for Alumni Expats

Dear Fellow Alumni:

As the transition period between the current administration of SAMSON J. LIM '81 and the incoming term of JEFFREY Y. SIY '80 draws to a close on June 1, 2005, the Alumni Association of Xavier School (AAXS) would like to express its fullest support to the upcoming visit of School Director Fr. JOHNNY C. GO, S.J. '79 and the Golden Jubilee Chairman HERO T. YU '72 to Canada and the United States.

The AAXS realizes the need to create formal ties with Xavier alumni all over the world. Therefore it has initiated communications with alumni based in China, Japan, Australia and North America to establish AAXS chapters in these places that will abide by the same charter and by-laws as those of the mother association, based in Manila.

In this regards, the AAXS has assigned its Vice President for Special Projects, Hero T. Yu, to spearhead this Worldwide AAXS project and to coordinate activities so that an AAXS North American chapter can be formed at the soonest possible time. Also, in his dual capacity as Jubilee Chairman, he is tasked to organize a continent-wide homecoming of the Xavier School family in North America to coincide with the Grand Golden Jubilee Homecoming in Manila in December of 2006. We ask all alumni in the cities visited to extend Mr. Yu their utmost cooperation in his various endeavors.

Your Alumni Association is happy to see the frenzied activity among Xaverians in Vancouver, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco in their efforts to welcome our School Director. The AAXS encourages all alumni to participate in these welcoming programs. It is, after all, the first time since our days in Echague and Little Baguio that school representatives have come to pay an official visit.

To encourage participation, to show our support of this visit and finally to create awareness of next year's Golden Jubilee Celebration, the AAXS is sponsoring a raffle prize of one (1) round trip ticket from any one of the four (4) visited cities in North America to Manila and back. This ticket will be issued in time for the winning alumnus to visit Manila during the Jubilee celebration.

Looking forward to a more vibrant, cohesive, truly representative AAXS, we remain

Very truly yours,
