Two Xavier math wiz triumphs in the recently concluded 2006 China Middle School Olympiad in Qingdao, Shandong, China last August 5-10, 2006.
Arnold Lindros Lau and Alister Lusuan, both from High 2C placed third in the Open-ended category of the contest.
The open-ended category of the tournament was said to be the most challenging of two parts as it required students to solve three challenging problems in two hours time. Participants were supposed to show all their answers and to prove them.
The two Xaverians, together with other high school students, represented the Philippines through the Mathematics Trainers’ Guild who also trained them.
Kudos to our math wizards and we pray for their continued success.
