Getting to Know the Big Boss of the Grade School

     Everyone knows that this school year, we have a new principal. We see her during assemblies, in the corridors and even in the canteen. But what do we really know about her? Well, through this article, we hope that all students will know a little bit more about our new Grade School Principal, Mrs. Jane Natividad.

     Upon congratulating her on becoming the new Grade School Principal, Mrs. Natividad thanked us and told us not just to congratulate her, but to wish her good luck as well. Next, we asked her how it feels to be the new Principal. She said that it felt great to be back in the Grade School Department. She then told us that she used to be in the Grade School from 1987 to 2003. She used to be a science teacher, and then she became the Department Chair for Science. In the year 2003, she left the Grade School to become the High School Principal.

     As a Grade School Principal, this time, Mrs. Natividad said that she is happier and at the same time, a lot busy than usual.  She also feels more fulfilled because she feels closer to the teachers and she has the chance to show her appreciation to them.  Of course, being a principal is also a big and tough responsibility.  Asked about the toughest part of her job, Mrs. Natividad said that the most difficult task is to make students learn to understand the mission of the school and to make sure that the curriculum meets international standards “so that Xavier School will be an emulative school”.

     What is her message to all of the students?  She said that students must love and care for each other, “Study hard and be happy!”

     Well, there you have it. Now that you know a thing or two about Mrs. Natividad, we hope that you’ll all make her feel at home here in Xavier as your new Grade School Principal.
