HIGHLIGHTS

A Fitting End
Ms. Aimee Apolinario, HS Web Editor

Posted Friday, 10-Nov-2006 10:56 AM

October 27, 2006 was the last day of the first semester and as a fitting closure to the first half of the school year, a thanksgiving mass was offered at the HS Gym.

As the mass began, written petitions of the members of the High School community were offered by teacher and student representatives.

Fr. Art Borja, S.J., School Chaplain was the main celebrant of the said mass and in his homily he emphasized the importance of expressing one’s gratitude like the healed leper in the Gospel. Concelebrating the mass was Fr. Guy Guibelondo, S.J., Campus Minister.

Despite being scheduled after the last second quarterly exam, the mass was well-attended. Although a few had to leave the school early, majority of the students were in school to be one in thanking the Lord for the semester that just ended.

Just before the students were dismissed, the HS principal, Mrs. Jane Cacacho, encouraged the students to rest well during the break, but at the same time reminded them to be ready to begin the second half of the school year.

Truly, the thanksgiving mass served to be a fitting ending for a fruitful first semester.
