Building a Team for the Synthesis Quarter Ms. Clarisse Arcadio, Grade 7 English Teacher and Jose Lorenzo Ferrer, Flexi 7E
For the Grade Seven students, the Third Quarter, also known as the Synthesis/Flexible Quarter, is a special quarter. They face many changes and challenges during this 6-week period, and one of them is being Many games were prepared by the Grade Seven teachers for this activity, with Mr. Aude, Ms. Arcadio, and Mr. Hernandez as the Game The game that followed the cheering competition was called the Spider Web. Each class was asked to make a web using yarn and two stacks of chairs. Afterwards, 25 students from each class were tasked to go through the web of the adjacent class. However, the students were not allowed to utter a word and could only communicate with the use of hand signals. Another catch was that only three students were allowed to pass a certain hole and the others had to find and go through another one. The fastest team to have all their members to pass through the web one at a time wins the game, and that team was Flexi 7F. The next game was the Cardboard Relay. Ten members from each class were asked to line up in front of a line of chairs. The student at the start of the line had to run around the chairs with cardboards strategically placed between the thighs, armpits, neck, and one in his hand to fan himself. The first team to have its members go around the chairs was declared the winner, which was Flexi 7F. A very familiar game, Pass the Message, followed shortly after. Each class had again ten members to sit in a row of chairs. These ten members The final game was the Modified Bring Me. The things being asked for weren't materials. Instead, the things needed were related to body parts. There were several things that were asked for such as the smallest eyes and the longest hair. Another thing that was asked for were the two students who looked like each other the most. The section that garnered the most number of points for this game was Flexi 7D. Aside from gaining new acquaintances and building camaraderie, these activities and games developed teamwork and cooperation among the new classes. All these are essential in order to have a fruitful and meaningful Synthesis Quarter.
