HIGHLIGHTS
November 6, 2006 signaled the start of the second semester and as early at 6AM, cars once again trooped to the Xavier-ICA vicinity.
The following day, November 7, a general assembly was held at the High School Gym which began with a short prayer service for the feast of St. Charles Borromeo.
It turned out to be an eventful gathering as different student groups were recognized in the school community.
The HS volleyball varsity team presented their 2nd place trophy from the Interscholastic Sports Association (ISSA) volleyball tournament to Mrs. Jane Cacacho. The team captain, Kirby Cheng, led his team in handing the prize to the HS Principal.
Mrs. May Hernandez (HS Math) read out the names of the students who have won in various Mathematics contests here and abroad and these boys were awarded their certificates by Mrs. Cacacho and the Math department chairperson, Ms. Rosie Moscoso.
Moreover, around 60 boys were given certificates for volunteering in last summer’s Para Kay Kiko (PKK) Program. Mr. Enzo Flojo (HS Campus Ministry) likewise officially announced that interested students may already start to apply for the Jubilee PKK for the coming summer.
Aside from these, video presentations for the upcoming MRX, Xtreme Classroom Makeover, and GK trip were featured in the assembly.
To end the morning’s gathering, Mrs. Cacacho welcomed the students and encouraged them to study hard in the new semester that has just begun.
