Last September 27, 2006, the Mid-Quarter Parent Teacher Conference for H1 parents was held at the High Multi-Purpose Hall.

      As early as 2:00 PM, H1 parents began to arrive to meet with their sons’ teachers. Others who came in a little later patiently waited for their turn at the MPH.

      Judging from the parents’ response to the invitation, it may be said that Xavier parents are very open to working with the school in the education of their sons. Being present at the PTC appears to be an indicator of their willingness to keep communication lines between the school and the home open.

      Teachers, on the other hand, took advantage of the opportunity to personally discuss the students’ performance with their parents, so that more help may be given to those who need it and that encouragement may be sustained for those who have already shown signs of improvement.

      That Wednesday, all the H1 teachers stayed in the MPH, where parents could meet with them. The PE teachers met with some parents at the special classroom on the ground floor. Meanwhile, the Department Chairpersons stayed at the Media Education Center , while the Guidance Counselors, Team Leaders, as well as the Principal and the Assistant Principals were available for consultation in their respective offices.

      The PTC began at 2:30 PM and ended a little before 5:00 PM. Hopefully, this effort may result not only to better communication between parents and teachers, but also to improved performance of the students in the 2nd quarter and the quarters to come.
