ALUMNI
With line ups that include two South East Asian Games medalists, two perfect gamers, and four Xavier Varsity Bowling Team captains, the Legacy Challenge is touted to be the most exciting tournament of the Alumni Association of Xavier School Bowling Club (AAXSBC).
The landmark event, set on September 17, 2006 at the Green Valley Country Club, will feature a “battle of generations,” as all stars from the 60s/70s battle the best of the 80s, the top keglers of the 90s and the up and comers of the 2000s/varsity. These four teams will play six sets of events, with the winning team taking home not only the prestigious Legacy Challenge Cup, but also bragging rights as, “the best decade,” for a year.
With the tentative line ups submitted, team 60s/70s will be led by team captain Manning Uychiaoco and Ateneo Bowling Team Coach Steward Uy from the 70s and 1972 SEA Games medalist John Lee Chua form the 60s. The 80s figure to be in the mix as well, with two former AAXSBC Presidents, Ferdie Co and Bonner Dytoc, leading the charge. Team 90s aims to counter with current president Jim See and Xavier Bowling Team Coach Sharwin Tee in the forefront. On paper though, team 2000s is the team to beat as it features 2005 SEA Games Gold medalist Markwin Tee and Xavier Bowling Team Captains Kendrick Yu and J. Em Ang on the team roster.
With September 17th a mere stone’s throw away, the alumni bowlers are feeling the anticipation. The AAXSBC is extending its invitation to the entire Xavier Community to watch and participate in this pioneering event. Games begin at 5:30 PM. See you there!
