Xavier Bowlers Reinforce Team 2000s, Win Legacy Challenge
Ms. Aimee Apolinario, Bowling Team Coach

Posted Monday, 02-Oct-2006 10:52 AM

Members of the Xavier Bowling Team were brought in for one specific purpose, and they did their jobs well. Team captain J. Em Ang (H4D), Carl Lim (H2F) and Timothy Hung (G7E) joined team 2000s in the 1st Legacy Challenge last Sunday, September 18, 2006, and they more than held their own as they helped the youngest team win the historic title.

SEA Games gold medalist, Markwin Tee led the charge for Team 2000s. He helped the team win four of the first six events, but the team encountered problems as Team 90s, incidentally led by team coach, Sharwin Tee, began a comeback following three 1st place finishes. It was here where the varsity keglers showed their worth. The trio combined with their former varsity teammates, Timothy Ocampo-Tan and Edmund Lee (’06) to weather the storm. They won the title even before the last event was played.

Special mention must be made for the team’s other members, namely, Kenrick Ocampo-Tan, Kurt Yu, Stewart Ngo and Markyn Kho who were on hand to support the team.

Once again, the team has given the alumni an impressive taste of their abilities, with the Alumni vs. Varsity All Star Challenge just a few weeks away.
