How
is it like being a new teacher at Xavier?
It’s
fun. The students here are very obedient, the teachers are very
friendly,
and the environment is very good for learning.
I
am very privileged to be part of the Xavier Faculty because
applying
in Xavier is like crossing a very thin line (It’s hard to
get in).
It
is fun, as of now. I get joy from my work. My co-teachers are
very
warm, as well as the students
So
far it’s been good. I’ve enjoyed my stay here.
Challenging
and at the same time, it’s fun.
For
me it’s really fulfilling to be a teacher, especially since
I’m
teaching
Grade 2 students, because they’re very lovable and
it’s
fun to teach them.
It’s
hard because I came in at the middle of the First Quarter.
Therefore,
the students are already tired/confused since
I’m
their nth Chinese Teacher for this year. On the other hand,
it’s
very fulfilling.
Well…
So far, it’s a good experience because the work is fulfilling.
The
work not only allows you to help the students, but also their
parents.
It also helps that my co-workers are supportive.
It’s
okay. It’s quite hard because there are a lot of things to
do.
At
the same time, it’s fun because I’m teaching little
boys.
It’s
pretty challenging and exciting at the same time. What else?
Basically
that’s it, I’m excited
Why
did you pick Xavier?
I
chose Xavier because I heard the students are smart.
I
am very privileged to be part of the Xavier Faculty because
applying
in Xavier is like crossing a very thin line (It’s hard to
get in).
First
of all, I wanted to teach an all-boys school. And I believe that
Xavier
is one of the best schools in the country. And I chose English
as
my subject because it was my major in college and I loved the
subject
since I was in Grade School.
Because
some of the counselors here are my friends, and they
tried
to convince me to work here. I said yes, of course!
Because
I’m an alumnus here, and I want to share what Xavier
has
given me.
Xavier
is one of the best schools I know because of the
good
quality education.
Actually,
I was texted to come to Xavier to apply since the original
teacher
already resigned to go back to China. So I gave it a try,
and…
Here I am, I got accepted.
The
guidance program of Xavier is different from other schools;
It
is more student-oriented, and that you are given plenty of
opportunity
to help the students.
Actually,
I just tried here. And I feel lucky because I got
accepted,
especially since it’s my first job.
First
of all, I wanted to try something new. It is my first time to
teach
older kids, because I’m used to teaching preschool, Monte
Montessori,
and Trumpets Children’s Theater.
Is
it difficult teaching at Xavier?
No. The
students are very loving.
Yes,
it may be hard sometimes, but there are fruitful things I am
acquiring
in teaching here, like a helpful experience and wonderful
students
and teachers.
Not really.
It’s really fun teaching at Xavier.
No. Because
the students and teachers are easy to get along with.
No.
Not really.
It depends on how you budget your time.
No. Because
if your passion is for teaching, then whichever school
will
not be difficult.
The work
has its own challenges, but I would say that I’m able to
cope/adjust
with the work well especially with the help of my
co-teachers.
The Filipino
subject only, because it’s hard for them to understand
some
things.
Partly
yes, because I’m still adjusting to a new school. And also
because
teaching 230 kids is hard for me.
Does
anything bother you about Xavier?
None
No. None
at all.
No. Nothing
at all
Since
I’m new, I haven’t memorized the procedures and forms
etc.
The only
thing that bothers me are the changes in Xavier during
my time
as compared to the present.
Nothing.
The only
thing that bothers me is that the Chinese time is limited.
Well
I have to say that, because I’m a new teacher, I’m still
familiarizing
myself with how it’s at here at Xavier… So I’m
not in
the position to point out what could be improved on.
None
at all
No. Not
really. Although, of course I’m still adjusting but it’s
pretty
manageable.
So that was first sitting of getting to know new people, go
ahead,
don’t be shy… They want to be your friends too. |
