Grade School Closing Ceremonies 06-07: Xavier Ideals Douglas Ringol Seetekbeng, (7D)
Fr. Ismael Zuloaga, Chairman ng Board of Trustees, Fr. 记(jì)得(de)七(qī)年(nián)前(qián),我(wǒ)们(men)还(hái)是(shì)一(yì)群(qún)天(tiān)真(zhēn)无(wú)邪(xié)的(de)小(xiǎo)孩(hái)。在(zài)老(lǎo)师(shī)们(men)的(de)谆(zhūn)谆(zhūn)教(jiào)导(dǎo)下(xià),我(wǒ)们(men)终(zhōng)于(yú)顺(shùn)利(lì)地(dì)完(wán)成(chéng)了(le)小(xiǎo)学(xué)的(de)学(xué)业(yè)。 今(jīn)天(tiān)是(shì)我(wǒ)们(men)最(zuì)难(nán)忘(wàng)的(de)一(yì)天(tiān),我(wǒ)们(men)即(jí)将(jiāng) 告(gào)别(bié)让(ràng)我(wǒ)们(men)留(liú)恋(liàn)的(de)小(xiǎo)学(xué)生(shēn)活(huó),成(chéng)为(wéi)一(yī)名(míng)中(zhōng)学(xué)生(shēng)。我(wǒ)们(men)会(huì)谨(jǐn)记(jì)这(zhè)七(qī)年(nián)来(lái)在(zài)小(xiǎo)学(xué)所(suǒ)学(xué)的(de)知(zhī)识(shi),秉(bǐng)持(chí)着(zhe)光(guāng)启(qǐ)的(de)校(xiào)训(xùn):做(zuò)一(yí)个(gè)充(chōng)满(mǎn)活(huó)力(lì)、富(fù)有(yǒu)正(zhèng)义(yì)感(gǎn),有(yǒu)才(cái)干(gàn)的(de)光(guāng)启(qǐ)人(rén)。进(jìn)入(rù)中(zhōng)学(xué)后(hòu),我(wǒ)们(men)将(jiāng)继(jì)续(xù)努(nǔ)力(lì)、做(zuò)得(de)更(gèng)好(hǎo),表(biǎo)现(xiàn)得(de)更(gèng)出(chū)色(sè)。 You may ask, what makes a Xaverian? He is a man who upholds the 6Cs, namely competence, character, community, compassion, conscience and culture. He is a man who grasps all opportunities to serve others. He is a man who develops himself to become a better person. He may be Einstein, Pope John Paul II, Lucio Tan or Henry Sy, but what really matters is what you do with these advantages and talents for the sake of others. Take Jose Rizal for instance. He had it all: money, power, and a good social status. He was also very religious. He was able to go to Europe to study in a prestigious school. But instead of staying in Europe and living the sweet life, he decided to return to the Philippines, so that he could stand up for the rights of his people. A true Xaverian gives his best into upholding the 6Cs, especially for the sake of his least fortunate brothers and sisters. As Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life for what we give.” As we end this chapter in our lives, we try our best to live out these ideals and put them into action, especially into our transition into High School, for these ideals say who we are, what we are, and what we believe in. With our heads help up high, we proudly say, we are Xaverians, men fully alive, endowed with the passion for justice, and the skills for development, truly men of God and men for others. To my fellow graduates, I congratulate you, for you have gone this far. Mabuhay Batch 2007! Luceat Lux, let your light shine!
