In line with the celebration of Xavier’s golden jubilee, Xavier held its annual school fair brimming with true RenaiXSance spirit last February 10-11.

The fair committee, headed by Mr. Adrian Asis of the English department and Jonn Dy of the Student Council, reported that revenues topped that of the previous year by a significant 10%.

As a landmark event, this year saw the inception of a talents night titled, IgNight – ending Saturday later than usual in dim romantic air.

IgNight was an event made especially for this year’s Golden Jubilee fair. Hosted by the bold, Miguel Naval of H4E, and the beautiful, Ms. Lampa of the English department, the event drew crowds and entertained many.

Creative performances abounded through the night: a Glee Club songfest special, a student-teacher acapella-rap series with Mr. Yap, Mr. Pinlac and a number of students, a Grade 1 group dancing to the tune of High School Musical , fire dancers that amazed the audience with blazing tricks and moves, and, an ensemble performance by rising amateur band, Mao, who sang the night away with its mind-blowing renditions of popular hits.

Come Sunday morning, YCLC and other teacher volunteers accompanied children from the Aeta community, who were all smiles strolling along the festive fair grounds and watching national champion Dance X perform.

As water bottles and pails flew Sunday afternoon with the customary wetting of the seniors, here was another year drenched in fun and laughter, making this one a truly memorable event.
