Xavier Kuang-Chi Exemplary Alumni Awards

     As the culmination of the school’s celebration of the Golden Jubilee, Xavier School will pay tribute to several exemplary alumni in the first Xavier-Kuangchi Awards to be held on March 3, 2007.

     This honor recognizes Xavier alumni who are shining examples of lives grounded on the Xavier Ideal of being “men for others”, witnessing through service and leadership.  They embody to an outstanding degree the Xavier attributes of Conscience, Character, Community, Compassion, Competence and Culture and are indeed, “Men fully alive, endowed with a passion for justice and the skills for development.”

     For this inaugural edition, the awardees were chosen from Batch ’86 and older to allow a sufficient time period in which one can make a meaningful contribution to society.  In addition, all alumni who are currently serving as Trustees have been excluded from consideration.

     On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce the first batch of awardees:

      John Burtkenley Ong ‘86

      Edward Wang ‘75

      William Chua (+) ‘72

      Francis Chua ‘67

      Wellington Tong ‘66

     We shall also be offering a Golden Jubilee Tribute to two alumni groups who are engaged in special ministries:  the Alumni Volunteers for the “Days with the Lord”, and the Alumni in Consecrated Lives (priests, brothers and lay) who have dedicated their lives to serve the Lord in their respective apostolates.

     Xavier School is also paying tribute to two outstanding individuals, both of whom played leading roles in the school’s development:

     Mrs. Jenny Huang Go             Luceat Lux Awardee

     May the lives of these individuals inspire all our alumni and students to strive even more to lead exemplary lives in the service of others.
