XAVERIAN'S CORNER

Xaverian Bags 2nd in Chinese to English Translation Contest
Ms. Grace Yip, HS Chinese Teacher

Posted Friday, 09-Feb-2007 10:26 AM

Last January 20, 2007, Henrison Ulrick Hsieh of H3A joined the Chinese-English Translation Contest, organized by Mr. Li Rong Mei in coordination with the Mandarin Studies Educational Research Center and bagged 2 nd place at the end of the competition.

The contest, which was held at the Paco Citizen Academy Foundation, was participated in by the best students from different Chinese schools all over Metro Manila.

The intense competition making required the participants to translate a 600-word Chinese composition into English within two hours.

Winning second in a translation match among more than 50 participants from Chinese schools like Philippine Cultural High School, St. Stephen’s High School, Philippine Academy of Sakya, and Manila Patriotic School is indeed an achievement for Henrison and Xavier School .

      Congratulations Henrison! Luceat Lux!
