HIGHLIGHTS

Career Trips
Ms. Joanne Pusta, HS Guidance Department Chairperson

Posted Monday, 15-Jan-2007 12:02 PM

As part of the Likas Gilas line-up of activities last November 29, 2006, some of our seniors further explored their career options by going on trips to actual work places and interacting with practitioners in the field.  Those who signed up for the Medicine trip visited the Philippine General Hospital where they interacted with Dr. Julia de Leon, a pediatric allergologist and Jack Herrin (XS '94) who is currently a resident.  Those interested in the discipline of Law visited Hon. Marianito Santos's sala at the Metropolitan Trial Court in San Juan while a few had a taste of the Culinary Arts life through their visit with Chef Rolando Laudico at his Bistro Filipino.  The last group did not exactly visit a workplace but had an interesting morning just the same when they attended a talk entitled "Animation Secrets Revealed" given by Mr. Hans Bacher who worked as production designer for Walt Disney Productions.

The Career Trips Program of the HS Guidance Department is a follow up to the Career Talks the seniors previously attended. The department hopes to continue this program in the succeeding school years.
