HIGHLIGHTS

4th Xavier Bowling Charity
Ms. Aimee Apolinario, Xavier Bowling Team Assistant Coach

Posted Tuesday, 06-Mar-2007 12:16 PM

The 4th Xavier Bowling Charity was held last Friday, February 23, 2007 at the E-lanes Bowling Center.

Despite being scheduled along with three other school activities, 15 teams went to support the annual charity bowl for the Xavier School Educational Trust Fund (XSETF). Like the previous bowling charity events organized by the Xavier Bowling team, in cooperation with the High School FACAMPA and the High School Student Council, the teams comprised of three members who played three games each.

Opening the event with a prayer was Mr. Frederick Perez, High School English teacher and HS FACAMPA Vice-President, followed by the welcoming remarks from Coach Sharwin Tee, head coach of the bowling team.

The traditional ceremonial roll was participated in by J. Em Ang, bowling team captain, Mr. Robbie dela Cruz, HS-FACAMPA President, and Jonn Dy, Student Council President.

A five-minute shadow bowling took place before the games officially begun. Despite the fewer teams playing this year, the spirit of the event remained the same. The energy of the bowlers was sustained at a high-level and friendly competition was evident in the way the teams cheered and teased each other.

An addition to this year charity bowl was a special raffle at the end of the awarding ceremony. Up for grabs was a brand new Nike watch donated by Xavier alumnus and SEA games bowling gold medalist, Markwin Tee. The lucky winner of the said prize was Ms. Loida Claro of the HS English Department.

Meanwhile, taking home the gold medal was Team Dexter which was composed of stewart Ngo, Duane Franco, and Mr. Samson Balance.
