HIGHLIGHTS

Awaken the Spirit of Giving this Christmas

      The school launched the “FEAST OF THE POOR”, its annual Christmas Drive last November 7 and 8. This goods and fund drive will run from November 7 to December 14, 2005 . Students, parents and other members of the Xavier Community may donate in cash or in kind according to the schedule below:

 

For Goods:

November 7 – 18   Non-perishable Food

(e.g. rice, canned goods, coffee, sugar, noodles, etc.)

  

Nov. 21 – Dec. 2   Clothes, Shoes/Slippers, Toiletries, Toys

       

December 5 – 14   Books and School Materials

 

For Cash or Check Donations:

Send all cash/check contributions to the Accounting Office.

     

The main beneficiaries are:

1) Public School Fund - the school’s outreach program to help nearby

communities through public education. Started a year ago, the school plans to continue conducting more teaching or training seminars for the public school teachers and student leaders in the municipality of San Juan .

2) Agency Personnel – The school’s contractual employees, such as the

janitors, security guards, skilled workers and traffic aides, each get to take

home a Noche Buena basket and a pail of goodies consisting of basic food

commodities for Christmas.

3) Other Service Beneficiaries:

Poor Families of Sapang Palay, Payatas, and Bulacan

Ephpheta Foundation

Boystown

Tahanang Walang Hagdan

The Aetas in Porac, Pampanga and Zambales

Tulong Dukha Foundation for Streetchildren

NOH-School for Crippled Children

Evacuees who live along the riverbanks of Angat River

Poor fisherfolk and tenants of ricelands in Agnipa, Romblon

Various orphanages, foundling homes, centers for street children and

out-of-school youths, etc. in Metro Manila

      During this period of great economic difficulty for many Filipinos, may all in the Xavier Family be moved to share more of their blessings with the less fortunate and help transform this season of love into a true feast of the poor .
