Grade Three “Best Problem Solver”
Ms. Teresita Fainsan, GS Music Teacher and Mrs. Vanessa DG Natividad, GS Math Teacher

Posted Friday, 02-Dec-2005 10:41 AM

Last November 10, the Grade Three students held a Math contest to find out who is the best problem solver among them. The contest, held in the GS Lecture Hall, was scheduled during their KAB Scout meeting so that each section can cheer on their representative. Nine contestants battled it out for the honor of being the best problem solver.

Elimination rounds for the contest were held a week before during the Math class of each section. The Grade 3 Math teachers, Ms. Myrna Mojica and Mrs. Vanessa DG Natividad, ranked the students according to the scores they got to find out the top scorers in each section. The top scorers of each section moved on to be the contestants for the final round of the contest.

Mario Antonio Ongkiko of 3D emerged as the winner. He was able to answer correctly all, but one easy question garnering a score of 38/40 points. Gabriel Angelo Manalo was a close second with a score of 36/40 points, missing the correct answer to two easy questions. John Alexander Co of 3G wound up as the Third place winner with a score of 31/40 points.

Congratulations to all the contestants and the winners.
