A Day
When Jesus Came to My Life
November 30 and December 7 were red letter days for the Grade
Three
The First Holy Communion is a special day in every young
Catholic’s life because it is the day they receive Jesus, the Bread of
Life, for the first time. It marks the end of merely waiting in the pews
while Dad and Mom are receiving communion during mass. Fr. Art Borja, S.J., Xavier School ’s chaplain, was the main celebrant for sections A, C E, F, G and I while Fr. Cesar Marin, S.J., the parish priest of Mary the Queen Parish, was the main celebrant for sections B and D.
The First Holy Communion day was the culmination of months
of preparation by students in their Christian Life Education classes as
well as their Music classes. Several students were chosen to sing the
responsorial psalm, “Taste and See” namely; Jose Lorenzo Choo of 3A, Alfonso
Miguel Ocampo of 3B, Xenon James Su of 3C, Kevin Joe Salvador of 3D, Francisco
Miguel Tiu Laurel III of 3E, Joshua Matthew Xenon James Su, Kevin Joe Salvador, Francisco Miguel Tiu Laurel III, Joshua Matthew Lim, John Michael Chan and Vincent Gabriel Soliven lead the first holy communicants in the singing. After the communion rites, the parents read the letter from their son written during the Communicants’ recollection.
In their CLE classes, the first communicants were asked to
express More than ever, the boys are now more aware of the coming of Jesus especially in their daily lives. The students’ personal encounter with Jesus in their First Holy Communion prepared them to have a deep and meaningful relationship with Jesus as He comes on Christmas day.
