Just as puzzle pieces
fit together to make a complete picture, the high four students engaged
in cooperative learning as they presented their Highlighting the event were sections High 4I, High 4D, High 4A and High 4C, all of which won during the Filipino One Act Plays held a few days ago.
In fact, High 4I, with its play entitled “Tick Tock: It’s a Bomb” bagged
the first High 4D, meanwhile, won second place overall and earned the best actor award for Julian Cua’s unique puppet role in their play, “Strings.”
High 4A won the best production and best supporting actor
(Miguel Oreta) awards, while at the same time, coming up with a second
runner-up finish with its Irish-based play, “The Four-Leaf Clover.” Meanwhile. H4C's suspense-filled “Closure" shared the second runner-up spot with H4A.
Out-of-the box presentation styles, witty lines, intense special effects,
impressive acting, attractive production designs and extraordinary themes
filled the event as the three judges, namely, Mrs. Thess Ladrido, Ms.
Rachelle De Vera and Ms. Aimee Apolinario, had a very hard time in determining

Hosting the event were Harvey King of High 4D and Mrs. Vivian Ocampo of
the English Department. Mrs. Ocampo opened the show by awing the
It was the first time that the English Department decided to give the senior students a freehand on the style of their plays because for the past two years, the tragedy theme of Greek drama was a guideline that students had to follow. It is actually because of this freedom that Ms. Apolinario tagged this year’s plays as those having “difference and variety.”
Though the event extended a bit and finished at around 5:20 pm., it was surely a memorable experience for everyone as the plays “The Four-Leaf Clover”(4A), “The Island”(4B), “Closure”(4C), “Strings”(4D), “The Interrogation”(4E), “The Retro Show”(4F), “On the Edge”(4G), “Macabre”(4H) and “Tick Tock: It’s a Bomb”(4I) were all worth everyone's time and effort.
