HIGHLIGHTS

Xaverians win Gold for the Philippines!

Posted Wednesday, 30-Nov-2005 1:00 PM

Three Xaverians played key roles in helping Team Philippines secure the overall championship in the 23rd SEA games by winning gold in their respective events. Miguel Mendoza (XS 2000) swam to a 2nd successive gold medal finish in the 1500 meter freestyle while Marcus Valda (XS '99) defended his gold from the Vietnam games with another victory in the 96kg class. The youngest member of the Philippine bowling team, Markwin Tee (XS 2002), belied his rookie status by outsteadying seasoned veterans from Indonesia and Singapore, both no. 1 players in their respective countries, to secure the Master’s title. The Xavier Community is proud of these alumni who have brought honor to their school and country. Xavier School salutes them and the rest of Team Philippines – Mabuhay!
