Seizing the opportunity of playing on weekday evenings, members of the Xavier Bowling Team accepted the invitation of the AAXS Bowling Club of joining the Alumni Bowling Monthly Tournaments. It was here where the team not only proved to the alumni that they existed, but also that they were competitive.

       In the monthly tournament for April, played in Green Valley Country Club, J. Em Ang fired the first salvo for the bowling team by placing 3 rd . In the step-ladder finals, J. Em faced Glenn Ang, who narrowly beat J. Em despite a handicap advantage of over 20 pins. With the victory, J. Em garnered himself a significant amount of qualifying points for the annual tournament.

        In the monthly tournament for May, also played at Green Valley , it was Timothy Ocampo-Tan who rose to the occasion. Despite just recently coming home from a trip abroad, Timothy showed little signs of rust as he too garnered 2 nd Runner-up honors. In the step-ladder finals, Timothy faced his own coach, Mr. Sharwin Tee and almost came away with the victory, losing by a mere six pins. With the victory, Timothy has also garnered qualifying points for the annual tournament later this year.

       Though both bowlers took home cash prizes with their victories, what is more important is that they had the opportunity to play with the alumni bowlers. They were able to not only impress the alumni, but also have fun with them. With the alumni being impressed, there will hopefully be more opportunities for the bowling team for further interactions with them.
