  HIGHLIGHTS

Jubilee Essay Writing Contest in HS
Ms. Aimee Apolinario, HS Web Editor

Posted Wednesday, 09-Nov-2005 3:59 PM

Just before the start of the semestral break, all high school students participated in the Jubilee Essay Writing Contest. Spearheaded by the High School English Department, the said contest was held for the high school students last October 28, 2005.

Each year level was given a topic and the students were given two class periods to finish their compositions. Class advisers and their buddies handled the proctoring of the activity while the English teachers roved during the writing proper to address concerns.

Students wrote 2-5 paged essays that expounded the following topics:

H1: What makes me distinctly Xaverian

H2: How My Xavier Education Helped Me Define Who I Am

H3: A Time When I Realized the Value of My Xavier Education

H4: How to Make the Most Out of My Xavier Education

From the submitted essays, the English teachers shall pick the best ones to be entered into the Jubilee essay writing contest. The winning essays will be published in the Xavier Jubilee’s commemorative coffee table book.
