HIGHLIGHTS
The wait is almost over and Stallions, young and old, shall all return to Xavier once more for the Annual Homecoming on November 26, 2005 to be held at the newly completed Fr. Rafael Cortina Sport’s Center. A red-letter day for most alumni, this year’s reunion promises to be a memorable night for old classmates and friends. Aptly titled, “It’s a CelebraXSion”, there are indeed many things to celebrate during this event. Slated to host are Myx VJ Iya Villania and Xavier’s own Jaime Garchitorena (’85). Moreover, the program is expected to thrill with Mocha and the Spin Art Band and Ms. Luane Dy scheduled to perform. Naturally, the fun-filled night, to be catered by crowd-favorite North Park , will include the yearly homecoming raffle. This year, the exciting raffle will feature a brand new Toyota Innova as the grand prize (now on display at the XS Admin lobby), a Royal Caribbean Cruise for 2 as the second prize, Philip Starcke watches from Chronos, gift certificates from Ortigas Home Depot, Gold’s Gym and Discovery Suites. This year’s Homecoming Celebration is presented by Alumni Association of Xavier School, through Globe Platinum, its co-presenter. This year’s organizing committee is headed by Francisco “Punch” Mamonluk (’80), and ably assisted by Diosdado Ng (’85), Edward Tiu (’80), Ricky Ongkiko (’80), Jeremy Sy (’85), Jade Bernas (’85), Marcelo Co (’90) and Patrick Ty (’95). The committee was also supported by the XS80 Luceat Lux Fund Foundation Board of Trustees and the celebrating batches (’60, ’65, ’70, ’75, ’80, ’85, ’90, ’95, ’00 and ’05). CelebraXSion won’t be the typical homecoming as this year’s party is inviting alumni family members to take part, from alumni fathers to their sons who are also alumni. Further, the latter part of the program will feature the much-talked about Xavier Jubilee Wine from Navarra , Spain , which is the birthplace of St. Francis Xavier. This unique limited edition wine is in commemoration of the Golden Jubilee to be celebrated next year, and shall benefit the scholarship program of XSETF.
