These two articles were written by students of San Juan National High School after the Leadership Training Seminar (LTS) they went through last September 23-25, 2005 at the Fr. Louis Papilla Formation Center.  The LTS was organized by Xavier's High School Student Council and Pathways for Higher Education Foundation.

XAVIER OPENS LEADERSHIP TRAINING SEMINAR TO SJNHS STUDENTS

Paula Arianne C. Ares, San Juan National High School

Xavier School opened a Leadership Training Seminar to San Juan National High School (SJNHS) students last September 23-25. The seminar was held in the building of kindergarten students of Xavier School . It was sponsored by Harvey Keh of Pathways in cooperation with by Fr. Johnny Go, Xavier School Director. Mr. TJ Agulto, teacher-facilitator and Matthew Cua, head student-facilitator, planned the activities of the said seminar. This Leadership Training Seminar aimed to mold students of SJNHS and of Xavier to become effective and responsible leaders. SJNHS students, accompanied by Mr. Larry Mandali, SJNHS Supreme Student Government (SSG) adviser, joined the said activity.

The seminar started with a short introduction of the facilitators by Mr. TJ Agulto. He also discussed the rules and regulations while in the premises of Xavier. Mark Gaw, student facilitator toured the participants in the said venue. Then the rest of the seminar was full of activities and interactions which built the personality of participants on becoming a true leader. The highlight of this event was the speech of San Juan Mayor JV Ejercito and former SK Chairman of Little Baguio, Mr. Silvano. Both shared their experiences as leaders, and they also gave advice on how to become effective leaders. There were also activities which were enjoyed by all participants like the race around the school of Xavier and of course the swimming activity. Before the end of this seminar, a thanksgiving Mass was celebrated by Fr. Johnny Go. This was followed by the distribution of certificates to the participants of this seminar.

ISANG PASASALAMAT

Officers of the Supreme Student Government

Delegates from 1st to 3rd year

Silvano, “ to lead is to serve we are leaders not to be served but to serve .
