ABLAZE! Honoring the Spirit of Service

Posted Tuesday, 02-May-2006 1:27 PM

In special ceremonies held last March 29, 2006 at the HS Multi-Purpose Hall, over 54 faculty & staff were honored for long-standing service to the school. The distinguished list included Fr. Santos Mena, presently Archives Center Coordinator, and Mrs. Estrelle Nabua, a 40-year stalwart, who gave a response on behalf of all the honorees (view speech). Ms. Pacita Carluen (35 years) delivered the opening prayer and Ms. Josephine Masacupan (30 years) capped the program by leading the community in reciting the Xavier Partner's Prayer.

The simple yet meaningful rites were enlivened by special video segments and entertainment numbers from the Central Administration Choir and from the tandem of Karen Baylon (Prep Teacher) and Harris Guevarra (HS Filipino teacher). The program, dubbed, Ablaze, successfully achieved its objectives of giving proper recognition to loyal faculty & staff and, at the same time, of highlighting the different key attributes of "service" which each one must renew -- a timely reminder in keeping with the upcoming Golden Jubilee theme of renewal.
