St. Valentine

John Paul Reyes (H1B)

Valentine’s Day.

February the 14th:

for some the greatest day,

for others, saddest day.

Valentine’s Day.

People laugh.

People cry.

People love.

Valentine’s Day.

Cupid's hardest day of year,

causing love and happiness,

or something worse than death.

Valentine’s Day.

The day when you confess,

the day which makes,

or the day which breaks.

Valentine’s Day.

People everywhere so happy,

giving gifts to people whom they love,

showing that they too love.

Valentine’s Day.

A day which reminds us,

that there are people out there,

people who still care for us.

Valentine’s Day.

Martin Vidanes (H2E)

uhm, what's new?
nothing much you're still the same
still perfect
still that good to look at
if only, you weren't in his arms
but in mine instead
the picture would’ve been perfect

so while i wait for God-knows-what
in a time only He knows when
I'll sit myself here
and take a sip
of my diet Pepsi
with the music
and the screaming
and the kissing
with some dancing
of others who surround me

Single's Awareness Day

Paolo Abrihan (H3C)

A huge epidemic sweeps the land

Many tears have been shed

Support us, by wearing a red band

A cry for those who have said:

That may no one feel alone again

And have a day to treasure forever

Cheers to those who have not forgotten

How easy to love, they must surrender

Resurrect the entire hopeless romantic

Save the lovers of love

May they daydream till they get sick

And write songs to the sky above

May man take his rib and place it in his heart

And cure her of any sickness

May woman bring her light upon the dark

And save him from his final wishes

"Happy Valentine’s"

I said to you today.

Just like two years ago

but look now,

you and I,

like spot the difference,

only,

a picture printed twice.

Just the same,

old thing;

the same,

old thing.

Your look at me,

still cold.

Your touch,

still burns.

Your lips,

so pale,

untouched by mine:

this day will end

like yesterday.

"Happy Valentine’s"

I said to you today.

Just like two years ago

and now,

as then,

my day has been no better.

The Invitation

Kylo Chua 4A

In the stillness of tonight,

            A candle slowly burns away

I walk across the empty room,

my mind with things I’ve yet to say

I lie awake in bed,

These dreams around my pillow case,

                                  Forever in a moment’s glance

With every breath held into place

I stop to watch the stars

That come out every now and then

To ask me where you are

To find you if I really can

Sometimes we don’t believe

That love can be so real

                                  Until that time we realize

                                                      a broken heart still feels

My mind bids me to end

But my heart tells me to wait

Your answer means so much to me

                                           I rather it be late

For every moment faded step

Is more than you would know

I hold my breath and stop the world

If you would choose to go

So take your time

                Don’t ever rush

                          Forever is just fine

It doesn’t matter

    when or where

as long as you be mine.

A Valentine Wish

Victorino Floro H1B

I was living a hopeless life.

While enjoying my meaningless tasks.

Yet the day when I first saw your face,

All was different because of you.

That day, cupid’s arrow struck me down,

And raised me up above the ground.

I couldn’t think of anything else…

I was love-sick and sand-blind.

Your smile was intoxicating.

Your face brightened up my day.

You never seemed to frown.

And yet one day, you faded away.

How I wish things didn’t change

‘Cause I was happy when you were there.

Although sometimes, I did forget,

Please don’t hate me now…

I became lost without you.

I was destroyed when you disappeared.

My heart broke when you left.

And my soul was soaked in tears.

Where did you go that day?

Where am I now anyway?

Have you forgotten me?

Have I ever hurt you?

Angels above, bring her back.

Because my hopes are dashed without her.

I would travel to the ends of the Earth to find you.

And I would kill to one day be able to tell you,

 “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
