Less than 24 hours after helping Xavier win the team event gold in the 1st Philippine National Schools Bowling Championships, Edmund Lee (H4D) decided to bring even more honor to the school by taking 2nd runner-up honors in the Majors division of the National Youth Quarterly (1st Quarter) held at the Pearl Bowling Center last Sunday, February 18, 2006.

      Lee bowled blistering lines of 206, 225, 203, 282 and 223 to total 1039 pinfalls in five games (208 average), but fell a little short of the title losing to Todd Reyes and former bowling team captain Casey Yu, who took 1 st and 2 nd place respectively. Edmund is now assured of a spot in the National Youth Annual tournament to be held in December later this year.

      Other bowlers who competed in the quarterly and made good accounts of themselves were Carl Lim (H1C) and Kurt Yu (H1D) in the Juniors Division, Michael Olivan (H3B) and Timothy Ocampo-Tan (H4B) in the Majors Division and J. Em Ang (H3D) in the Collegiate Division.

      The bowlers continue their busy February this weekend in the Doubles and Singles Events of the 1st Philippine National Schools Bowling Championships at the Pearl Bowling Center. The Doubles Event will be on Saturday at 3 P.M.and the Singles Event will be on Sunday at 2 P.M.
