The 2006 Xavier School fair turned out to be another major event in the continuing LegaXy of Xavier School . Held last February 4 to 5, LegaXy brought together the entire Xavier School community in a celebration of Xavier School ’s history and in anticipation of its Golden Jubilee next year.

One of the features of this school year’s fair was the nostalgic layout and decorations, carefully crafted by the Xavier Prod Crew led by Science teacher and Prod Crew moderator, Ms. Bernadette Leobrera and High 4 student Miguel Gonzalez. Booths were arranged on various streets with names like Echague, 49th Street, and Jesuit Lane, all reminiscent of various stages in Xavier School ’s rich history.

Miguel was all smiles as fairgoers complimented his group’s output and said, “It was awfully hard work, but after seeing how it came out, it all seems worth it.”

Yet another highlight of this school year’s fair was PanaXea: The Universal Cure , a variety show which took place at the high school gym last Saturday, February 4. With hot professional bands Hale, Bamboo, Orange and Lemons, Brownman Revival, Urbandub, Dictalicense and Kjwan, the variety show turned out to be a roaring success with all tickets sold out hours before the show began.

In addition to the fantastic variety show and fashion show, an MTV Video Jock (VJ) Hunt which featured students from Xavier and ICA was part of the show. Garnering the highest number of text votes was senior, Jaime Leogardo. After being named winner of the VJ Hunt, Jaime could only muster, “I don’t know what else to say. I guess I just want to thank everyone for coming to PanaXea.”

Aside from the usual fair patrons, the Xavier Community was also more than happy to welcome a group of Aetas kids, who were treated to a program prepared by various students, as well as entertained by the fun rides and games available at the fair grounds.

Student Fair Coordinator and Student Council president, Casey Lim was overwhelmed by the result of the school fair. “It was more successful than we could have ever imagined,” he beamed. “I just hope that people will be as supportive and as generous in the fairs to come.”
