Full Throttle for Team Stallions in 5th Xavier Matchplay Action

     Team Stallions displayed some awesome putting and practically showered their competition with eagles and birdies at the close of yesterday's matchplay action.  The Stallions captained by golf prodigies Mike Chan and Lawrence Cobankiat lead the field with 27 points while Team Colt 45 is in 2nd with 23.5 points.  The defending champs, '72 Dragons, is in
3rd with 21.5 points.

Complete Standings at the End of the 1st Round (January 9, 2006)

1st Place - Team Stallions - 27 points
2nd Place - Team Colt 45 - 23.5 points
3rd Place - Team Dragons - 21.5 points
4th Place - Team Tigers - 19.5 points
5th Place - Team CK - 15.5 points
6th Place - Team Unicorns - 13 points

      The 5th Match Play Tournament hosted by the '72 Dragons Foundation is held this year at Canlubang Golf and Country Club.  2nd and final play
date will be on January 16, 2006.

Team CK contains the core of the inaugural matchplay champions, Stanwood 80s, led by AAXS Pres. Jeffrey Siy and Immediate Past President Samson Lim.  The Tiger Team took home the 2nd Matchplay diadem.  The expansion Stallions captured the title in their inaugural year of participation (2004).  Colt 45 used to be known as jcgosj in honor of Fr. Johnny Go while the Dragons Team is entirely made up of players from Batch '72.
