Xavier Stallions Trample upon

Don Bosco on the Soccer Field
Lorenzo Mangubat (H3C), Soccer Varsity Team Member

On January 7, 2006 , the Xavier Soccer varsity team won its first game of the year in the RIFA league against Don Bosco Technical College.  The Bosconians tasted defeat as their single goal was no match to the Xaverian's five.

Initially, the direction of the game seemed unpredictable at the beginning. In fact, it was Don Bosco who drew first blood with the first goal in the opening half. AT that point, the Xaverians seemed unable to penetrate the opposing defense, with several attempts which fell short of the goal.

However, the tide turned in the second half, when Xavier finally started to respond to Don Bosco’s opening challenge with a good offense.

With Don Bosco unable to breach the Xaverian defense in the closing minutes of the game, the match ended with Xavier four points ahead.
