Xavier Aspirants Team Wins Third Straight

      The Xavier Tiong Lian Aspirants team won their third straight game last Sunday, January 15, 2006 versus Chang Kai Shek College, 78-46, in the Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball League held at the UNO gym. Xavier School has been the champion for the past 3 years in the Aspirants Division and is going for a four-peat this year. The team started off well as they sank quick baskets to take the lead early in the game. Chang Kai Shek was able to recover a bit but it wasn’t enough to catch up with Xavier despite the early foul trouble of some of its players. The match never got close with Xavier controlling the game’s tempo. The game ended with Xavier winning by a margin of 32 points. Xavier now holds a 3-0 record as they get ready to face St. Stephen’s High School, the only other undefeated team, next Saturday.
