The launching of the Xavier Magis Awards in the High School unit was held during the general assembly last Tuesday, January 17, 2006.

Ms. Joanne Pusta, Guidance Coordinator and XMA Committee Co-Chair, led the short ceremony.

The highlights of the launching included an inspirational talk from Christopher Tiu, Magis award recipient of Batch 2003. He shared his experiences as a student in Xavier and emphasized that the awards are not exclusive to student leaders. He said that anyone can be an awardee for as long as one does his work with all his heart. Moreover, he emphasized that students do not need to do extra ordinary things to get an award.  Besides, it is the way lives are lived that counts.  Furthermore, he also said that doing things for the greater glory of God is important of all.

After the speech, Ms. Pusta invited the community to watch the launching video which featured past XMA awardees.
