H3G took top honors at the recently concluded H3 Band Fest and Video Production Contest held last January 13, 2006 at the High School Multi-purpose Hall (MPH). The video for their song “Don’t Give Up,” features teens contemplating but eventually shunning suicide as a means to solve their problems. (Click here to view the video clip)

H3E meanwhile, led by their inspired vocalist, Rafael Ting, took the awards for Best Song (Click here to view the lyrics), Best Performance and 2nd Overall Presentation. Their song “Unspoken Silence” (Click here to view the video clip) features a nostalgic persona who would rather have things back the way they used to be.

H3B took 3rd Overall Presentation with their song “Metathesiophobia (Fear of Change).”

Judges for the contest were English teacher Mr. James Nicolay, Computer Teacher Ms. Jessica Demegillo and Guitar Club moderator Mr. James Rivera.

The contest is a culmination of the High 3 students’ English lessons on J.D. Salinger’s “The Catcher in the Rye ” and Computer lessons on video production.
