Last January 9, the intermediate grades launched the search for the Xavier awardees. This special event took the place of the weekly general assembly. What is the Xavier award? It is the highest award given to an intermediate student who has embodied the 6C’s; Competence, Compassion, Conscience, Character, Community, Culture, aside from academic excellence. (view video presentation)The candidates must have significant extra curricular involvements. He should also be a man of service, a man for others, and of course, a man of God. The event started with a prayer led by a grade five student, Javier Gamboa and opening remarks from Fr. Johnny Go, S.J. Members of the faculty briefly explained the Xavier award and how to nominate students. There was also a short video presentation showing the definitions of the 6C’s. Previous Xavier awardees such as Carlo Roman, Filbert Tiu, Luis Locsin among others, were featured. Nominations for the Xavier awardees can now be made online at www.xs.edu.ph . The prestigious Xavier award is truly something we should all strive for. Miss Ria A. Marifosque, Grade 6 English Teacher, Hoofprint Co-moderator
