XAVERIAN'S CORNER

Grade 7 Students' Reflections on Class Eucharistic Celebration

The Class Mass is an important activity that we all looked forward to in the CLE flexi third quarter. It is an activity wherein we encounter Christ personally as an individual and as a class. The class camaraderie and the spirit of teamwork were reflected. All worked for the success of the activity. Our Class Mass was the first activity that we have undertaken as a team and with great responsibility.

In this experience of making a Class Mass, I have learned that many things that I thought were meaningless and will have no use in my daily life were actually very important. One of these things is teamwork. Teamwork can be the most frustrating especially when one or two are not participating, but for me it is the most important value/virtue to master. I have learned also that you must always strive to improve what you have because there is always more than one good way to do something. Another most important thing I have learned in this activity is to have fun. A little optimism will always do good in tough situations and dead ends. Most people get there best ideas when they are having fun and help others to feel good doing tough jobs/assignments. There are still many things I do not understand but for me through this activity, I have learned things which I know I will use for tomorrow and for the rest of my life.

The things that struck me are the difficulties that I encountered and how I was able to face them. I learned that no matter what task I am ask to do even how hard it is, I can finish it if I am determined to finish it. I also learned that hard work is very important in doing things because if you work hard, you can finish the job you are ask to do. I also learned that teamwork and cooperation is important. I also realized that we need other people like our teachers to guide us and classmates who cooperated and shared their talents. Help from other people is important because they help us accomplish our goal. But most of all, I know that GOD helped me accomplish the task asked of me which contributed to the success of our Class Mass. I am very thankful for this.

I learned that it is not better to join the group that has the easiest job but to join the group that I can help the most. The most important thing I learned was to always believe in myself so that I can give my best and do well in all the things that I will do. The thing that struck me also is to see people spending their time doing their tasks without expecting any reward.

In our Class Mass, I realized that everybody must work together to accomplish and reach the same goal, not to work alone and also to put aside our differences when working. My difficulties were that I am not that good at socializing with other people and that I am short-tempered. But during the preparation, I was able to face my difficulties. I was able to control my temper as best I could. The challenge for me was to be able to work with the group and not as an individual. The CLE third quarter is all about “working together”, not working alone.

In our Class Mass, I realized that in order to overcome an obstacle or challenge, cooperation and teamwork is all that is needed. In all the parts of the Mass, there was one part which struck me the most. That part was when the priest blessed our class. It struck me the most because when we were all gathered together in the center while the priest was blessing us with holy water, I got wet on my forehead and I felt GOD’s love come into me.

“It is possible to fail in many ways… while to succeed is possible only in one way” (Aristotle) I experienced the true meaning of this quotation in the preparation of our flexi Class Mass. Because of being too selfish and just aiming to finish our group’s assigned tasks, we forgot the whole point of having our Class Mass. We became too focused on wanting to have good outcome that we almost forgot everything in between- working together, sharing ideas, and most importantly, being prepared. But later on, we realized that we need to work as one class to be able to finish well. If we work as one, it is easier to see our mistakes and improve our work.

Our Class Mass is our first ever opportunity to join hands as a class. At first, we were having some problems because we were not used preparing/organizing a Mass by ourselves. But, as our teachers guided us, we were able to get some ideas. In our experience, I learned that teamwork is one option to reach your goal. This also helped me become more determined to be closer to God and be more participative during the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. I also learned that, I should not take these opportunities for granted because it will surely be of benefit for me. This was an experience that I will certainly never forget as a part of my grade school life. Somehow, it helped me become more responsible and more mature in my relationship towards God.

I think what we learned in this activity is that we have to work hard to achieve success. If we work hard, we will be rewarded with the yummy fruits of our labor. Another thing, we should learn to go to the outside world and ask other people for help.

I learned a very valuable lesson that would really help me along my years not only in Xavier but also all throughout my life. I learned that in doing anything, I need help. I should not hog over the project and I must consider each person’s opinion. Coordination is another lesson I have learned. I should make arrangement with the other groups. I also learned to lend a hand. If you can see that someone needs help, help him, it won’t make you smarter, but it will surely make you a mature human being. In helping though, you must remember that HELP means lending a hand as though you are a part of that group. When you help, you give the best, you don’t make “pabaya”.
