FASAAPS Sportsfest Closes

Mr. Reynaldo Sabio, Xavier FASAAPS Representative

Posted Wednesday, 01-Feb-2006 10:03 AM

The 10th edition of the Faculty and Staff Athletic Association of Private Schools (FASAAPS) Sportsfest culminated last December 2005 and the Xavier teams grabbed winning spots in different events.

In badminton, Xavier’s female faculty netters were hailed champions while the male faculty netters were awarded the 2nd runner-up position.

Xavier ruled the table tennis events as well and brought home the gold by defeating seven other schools that competed.

Moreover, the teachers in blue and gold scorched the bowling lanes and emerged as champions in the tenpin bowling event.

Finally, in women’s volleyball, the Xavier team brought home first runner-up honors.

Other events in the said sportsfest include basketball, chess, darts, and billiards.  Although Xavier did not manage to occupy top slots in these events, it is hoped that there is still a possibility of retaining the overall championship crown for this year.

Schools that joined this inter-school faculty event were Ateneo High School, Claret, Don Bosco Mandaluyong, Don Bosco Makati, International School Manila. International Christian School, La Salle Greenhills, Lourdes Mandaluyong, Lourdes Quezon City, Marist, and Miriam.
