XAVERIAN'S CORNER

Lights! Camera! Action!

The Third Quarter in Grade 7 is memorable for me. We were given an opportunity to have a drama presentation in a “chamber theater” setting. For our preparation, our teachers invited performers from the “Alitaptap Storytellers Club” to demonstrate to us an example of a Chamber Theater presentation. Our English teachers explained in great detail the process involved in preparing for a drama presentation from script writing, acting workshop, stage design, music and sound effects production, and even preparing a programme and promotion of our plays. The teachers tried their best to give us the feeling of being in a chamber theater environment. All that information and knowledge prepared us tremendously for the task at hand!

How I wish that the day will come when many will be very skilled in setting up different styles, formats and even create very exciting plots in a chamber theater presentation. All performers will be very proficient that the jurors will have extreme difficulty in making judgments. Even the audience will be very satisfied and will request us to come up with more plays for their entertainment and enjoyment.

For all the Grade 7 students who have joined efforts and worked hard for this project, we can all look back and say, “We’ve made it and we did a good job worthy of praise and citation.” Without the assistance and patience of our English teachers, I don’t think we will be able to achieve anything worthwhile and worth remembering.

When the lights are out, the cameras are off, the action has just begun!
