The Golden Jubilee Commemorative Stamps were launched last June 9 before an audience of alumni, faculty, parents and guests at the newly renovated Angelo King Multi-purpose Center.  Fr. Go welcomed the guests before the Assistant Postmaster General for Marketing, Mr. Luis Carlos, started the proceedings with a brief speech explaining the significance and value of commemorative stamps.  Then, together with Assistant Postmaster General for Finance, Ms. Elizabeth Tungol, Philpost formally unveiled and presented the stamps to Fr. Johnny Go and Fr. Ismael Zuloaga.

The group then ceremoniously cancelled and autographed some copies of the first day covers after which Fr. Go distributed framed and autographed stamps to leading supporters of the school.  These souvenirs were given out to Fr. Daniel Huang, Mayor JV Ejercito, Amb. Bienvenido Tan, Jr., alum0ni board members Carlos Chung, Johnip Cua, Miguel Tan and Gregorio Yu, Philpost design committee member Dr. Ngo Tiong Tak, and David Atienza (’71), stamp committee chair.

The brief program, emceed by Fred Tiu, ended with a message of thanks from Fr. Zuloaga and a blessing of the lunch buffet.  Live entertainment of traditional Chinese music was provided by Prof. Vicente Ongsiako and the Kim Hua Chinese Music Ensemble.  Over P180,000 worth of stamp sheets, first day covers and souvenir jackets were sold that day.
