  XAVERIAN'S CORNER

A  Dream of a Lifetime
John Mikhail Lim (G7D), Hoofprint Staffer

Many students have, for a long time, dreamed of marching during their Graduation/Closing Ceremonies.   This year the GS Class of 2006 got the chance to fulfill their dreams. They marched down the aisle not knowing that it would be their last time to see their beloved Grade School.

The Gr. 7 students had mixed emotions. They were happy, anxious, excited and scared all at the same time. The mass was very significant to the Graduating class. Fr. Johnny Go, S.J. said that a Xavier student should be very thankful for he was blessed with a Xavier education. We should be grateful to our parents, teachers and the Almighty God for helping us along the way.

During the Graduation, everything was so pompous and extravagant from the traditional march, handing out of pledges, to the Graduation Exhibit.  As the Grade 7 students were announced and entered the Sports Center, they were met with thunderous applause. The parents were so overjoyed and excited that their once Nursery sons, are now going on to High School.  The class advisers, who were dressed to the nines, proudly presented the Pledges and medals, to their advisees. I realized, as one of the members of Grade School Class 2006, that power and prestige isn't everything. It is one's character that matters. It will shape the future for me and my fellow batchmates.

As I was marching down the Sports Center for the Recessional, I realized one thing. I realized that one should believe in one’s potentials. One should always think that dreams can take flight.  Because without this vision, the GS Class of 2006 could not have reached this stage in their lives.

Congratulations GS Batch 2006!!!!
